Ponta Negra, Natal, Brazil
Ponta Negra “Black Tip” is a neighborhood and famous beach located in the North East of Brazil in the city of Natal. The area is very touristy and urban. There are shops, restaurants and plenty of hotels.
PRO-TIP: Before making any trip to a foreign country it’s a good idea to call your bank and credit card companies to let them know. Always carry extra cash just in case your cards fail.
Hotel
When I visited Ponta Negra, I stayed in the Pousada Estacao do Sol hotel. It’s very close to the beach and near the giant sand dune.
Beach
Once on the beach, you will rent chairs. You should not bring your own because that is rude. There are people there that will rent chairs and serve you alcohol or coconut water all day.

Shopping
There are several shopping malls in the area. There is also a shopping center known as “Via Direta” that has great food and places to visit.
Touristy Things To Do
There’s a lot to do in Natal. I would suggest going to visit the beach, fort, dune buggy excursion, scuba diving, concerts, shopping and eating out.
I was lucky and went to a random concert of some Brazilian artist I knew of. She was actually from Natal, it was her home town.

ImirĂ¡ Plaza Hotel & Convention
On the way back there was an issue with my flight so the airline put me up in this hotel for a day.
